This manufacturing fixture was designed to meet the needs of a laboratory instrumentation manufacturer that required blood collection cuvettes (vials) filled with saline to test their equipment on the production line. Previously the manufacturer had used a manual fill operation that was slow, inconsistent and required expensive labor to operate. Electromechanica designed this semi-automatic saline fill system to overcome these problems with their old method of filling the tubes.
The saline fill system allows an unskilled operator to load and entire unopened package of blood collection cuvettes into the machine. Once the package is loaded and the door is shut the operator presses a button and all 100 tubes are filled with saline in 15 seconds. This is nearly 10X faster than their old method!
