Electromechanica, Inc. designed this Anti-Flood System based on the patent pending design concept of Mr. Donald Wilson, an entrepreneur in North Carolina. Mr. Wilson hired Electromechanica, Inc. to produce a working prototype of his system to provide proof of concept.
This system is designed to protect residential and commercial potable water systems and buildings from damage due to overpressure, freezing and burst piping. The system can detect these faults and automatically shut off the supply and drain the pipes. A manual shutoff system allows the property owner to remotely disconnect the supply. This feature is especially convenient for seasonal property such as cabins and summer homes.
Electromechanica, Inc. reviewed the client's prototype needs and worked with the client to develop a plan to successfully implement the design while meeting both budget and schedule requirements. After a working specification and functionality list was developed we designed the system. All parts of the project from circuit board layout to enclosure machining were done in-house to assure total control. The final parts were assembled and hydrostatically tested to ensure operation to design specifications.
The unit was delivered on schedule and on budget. Based on our performance in Phase I of this project, we were selected for the Phase II development and commercialization.
